Pace is a command-line time tracker designed for people who already live in a terminal. It's not Toggl. It's not Harvest. It's a single binary, one config file, and a half-dozen commands you'll remember within a day.

Type pace start "writing the Q2 plan" and your session starts. Type pace stop when you're done. Type pace week to see what you actually spent your time on this week. That's most of it.

Why we made it

We tried four other time trackers. They all wanted to be the center of our workflow. We wanted something that stayed out of the way and answered the one question we actually had: where did the last week go?

Commands

pace start "task description" # begin a session
pace stop # end current session
pace status # what's running
pace today # today's sessions
pace week # this week summary
pace export csv > log.csv # export everything
